What We Can Treat with the Novalis Tx
The Novalis Tx radiosurgery system is uniquely designed to treat tumors and lesions throughout the body. Here at San Diego Radiosurgery we are able to treat benign tumors, malignant tumors, vascular malformations and functional disorders such as:
- Arteriovenous malformations (AVM)
- Cavernous angiomas
- Trigeminal neuralgia
- Brain metastases
- Gliomas
- Glioblastoma Multiforme
- Hemangioblastoma
- Meningioma
- Vestibular schwanomas
- Uveal melanomas
- Neurofibromas
- Spinal tumors
- Lung tumors
- Liver tumors
- Prostate tumors
- Acoustic Neuroma
- Astrocytoma
- Pituitary Adenoma
- Recurrent tumors in areas previously treated with radiation
With radiosurgery, high-energy radiation beams aim to destroy tumor cells by damaging the cells and causing them to die. Visible results, as seen on a follow-up scan, might include shrinkage of the tumor or the cessation of further tumor growth. Because cell destruction and the absorption of the cells within your system is a lengthy process, it can take up to six months before the effect of the treatment is visible on a follow-up image.
The team at San Diego Radiosurgery is dedicated to ensuring we are always on the leading edge of patient care. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a tumor, we encourage you to give us a call at (760) 739-3835 to determine if radiosurgery is right for you.
